Celebrex 100mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Celecoxib. It belongs to the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and specifically a sub-group known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. Celebrex 100mg Tablet works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.

Do not take Celebrex 100mg Tablet if you are allergic to Celebrex 100mg Tablet or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you had reactions to sulfonamide medicines, suffer from ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, or experienced adverse reactions to NSAID medications like aspirin.

Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor because it is recommended to not take this medicine if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Celebrex 100mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Celecoxib, which belongs to the class of NSAIDs and works by blocking production of COX-2 enzyme. This blocking of the COX-2 enzyme prevents the production of pro-inflammatory chemicals that could cause heart problems, such as ulcers. By reducing the production of pro-inflammatory chemicals, Celebrex 100mg Tablet provides relief for people suffering from cardiovascular and ulcers.

What is Celebrex?

  • Celebrex is a brand name for the drug Celecoxib, which is used to treat arthritis and is also used to reduce the risk of bone loss in people with a history of osteoarthritis.
  • Celebrex is often prescribed for arthritis and other conditions.
  • Some people may also benefit from taking Celebrex to reduce the number of stomach ulcers, or the number of stomach bleeding, as it can reduce the chances for these to happen.

We are currently investigating the use of Celebrex alongside other medications for treating both heart disease and osteoarthritis.

Uses of Celebrex

  • Celebrex is used for the short-term treatment of:
    • Inflammation-related pain and discomfort in the joints (e.g., knees, fingers, elbows, lower back pain)
    • Ankylosing spondylitis
    • Liver problems such as abnormal liver function tests, abnormal lipid levels, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)

How Celebrex Works

  • Celebrex works by blocking the enzyme type II COX, which is responsible for the production of a substance called prostaglandins. COX-2 is responsible for the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing stomach pain, discomfort, and pain in the stomach.
  • Celebrex is not an ulcer drug, but it helps reduce the number of stomach ulcers, and it can reduce the chances of bleeding, so it can be prescribed alongside other medications or for a short period.

Side Effects

  • There is not enough information on the use of Celebrex with other medications, so we are currently investigating the possibility of a interaction between Celebrex and certain antidepressants. The side effects reported in clinical trials include:
  • Feeling sleepy and weak
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Heartburn and acid reflux
  • Rash
  • Pain in the joints

Interaction

  • Cautions when taking Celebrex include:
    • Do not use with aspirin or other NSAIDs, as the risk of serious adverse events increases with these drugs. Taking more than the recommended dose may increase the risk of serious gastrointestinal problems and liver problems. Taking more than this should be strictly prohibited. Taking other medications with the same active ingredient (e.g., cyclosporine, antidepressants) may increase the risk of gastrointestinal problems. It is important to discuss all medications (including prescription/nonprescription) with a doctor before starting Celebrex. Celebrex has not been studied in children under the age of six months. Consult your doctor before taking Celebrex while you are under the age of six months and discuss the risks and benefits with a doctor.

    Safety Advice

    • If you are taking Celebrex and experience any adverse events while taking Celecoxib, stop taking Celebrex and contact your doctor or pharmacist right away. You should also inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems. Celebrex can increase your risk of developing stomach ulcers. You should also inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medicines (including aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or others). Celebrex can reduce the amount of blood clots in the legs. If you are at higher risk of getting a life-threatening stroke or heart attack while taking Celebrex (for which Celebrex is prescribed), you should seek immediate medical attention. Other medications, including prescription/nonprescription medicines, should not be taken with Celebrex.

    Storage

    • Store Celebrex at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep Celebrex out of reach of children. Do not use it when you are in the bathroom. Do not use it if you have any underlying health problems (e.g., heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease).
    • Do not take it unless your doctor tells you to.
